A Local Host's Guide to the West Palm Beach GreenMarket (2026–27 Season)

If you're staying with us on a Saturday between fall and late spring, there's one thing I'll always nudge you toward: the West Palm Beach GreenMarket. It sets up right on the downtown waterfront, it's free to walk in, and it's one of the easiest ways to feel like a local within an hour of waking up. Grab a coffee, wander the stalls with the Intracoastal sparkling next to you, and head home with a bag of fresh food for the week.

Here's what to know before you go, plus a few tips from our own Saturday mornings.

When the GreenMarket is open (2026–27 season)

The 2026–27 season is the market's 32nd. According to the City of West Palm Beach event calendar, it runs every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., from October 3, 2026 through May 22, 2027.

There are two Saturdays off this season, both for other big downtown events. The market is closed on February 6, 2027 (Palm Tree Music Festival weekend) and March 20, 2027 (Palm Beach International Boat Show). If your trip lands on one of those dates, you'll have plenty of other excitement downtown instead.

City events can change, so it's worth a quick look at the city's GreenMarket page the week of your visit.

Where it is

The market sets up at the Waterfront Commons, and the city's GPS address is 100 N. Clematis Street, right where Clematis Street meets the water. On market mornings, several downtown blocks around Clematis, Olive, Dixie and Flagler close to traffic, so plan to park and walk the last few blocks.

What you'll find

The city describes it as a curated mix of South Florida vendors: fresh produce, baked goods, coffee and tea, flowers and plants, and plenty of ready-to-eat breakfast and lunch options. You'll also find live music, pop-up workshops and chef showcases.

This season's theme is "The World, Right Here," celebrating international foods, flavors and traditions from across the community. Palm Beach Now reports that the Master Chef Showcase returns beginning November 14.

Vendors change from season to season, so I won't promise you a specific stand. Half the fun is walking the whole loop before you decide where to spend.

Parking, bikes and getting there

Parking is easier than people expect. Per the city's hours and parking page:

  • Free during market hours (8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.) at the City Center Garage (401 Banyan Boulevard), Clematis Street Garage (500 Banyan Boulevard) and Sapodilla City Garage (640 Clematis Street).
  • Closest to the market: the Banyan Garage and Evernia Garage, which charge the city's all-day weekend flat rate of $5.
  • Free bike valet: the Downtown Development Authority runs a free bike valet on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the corner of N. Narcissus Avenue and Clematis Street. They'll even check your air, brakes and chain.
  • Skip the car entirely: the city's West Palm Move service runs a $1 fixed route between the Norton Museum of Art and Northwood Village, plus $2 on-demand rides. Our guide to getting around West Palm Beach without a car has more.
  • By boat: the city notes that free public docks are available, with the Clematis Street Dock closest to the market.

Bringing the dog

Good news for four-legged travelers: the city says the GreenMarket is leashed-dog friendly, and dogs should be on short leashes. It gets busy by late morning, so a calm, crowd-comfortable pup will have the best time. For more ideas, see our pet-friendly West Palm Beach guide.

Our tips for a great market morning

  • Go early if you like it calm. The city sets aside 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. as a Quiet Shopping Time, before things get busier, and there are quiet spaces along the eastern edge of the market.
  • Bring a tote bag and a little patience. It's popular, and the best stalls draw lines.
  • Pack for the sun. Hats, sunscreen and water go a long way, even in winter.
  • Shop for the week. One of my favorite things about staying in a home instead of a hotel is having a full kitchen. Pick up fresh produce and bread, then cook a relaxed dinner back at the house. (Here's why a vacation rental works so well for families and groups.)

Make a morning of it

The market is steps from everything else downtown. After shopping, stroll Clematis Street, walk the waterfront, or cross the bridge for a day on Palm Beach island. If it's your first visit, our first-timer's weekend guide shows how to fit it into a full weekend, and our season-by-season guide explains why fall through spring is such a lovely time to be here. Stay close to the market

Our family-run West Palm BnBs homes are a short drive from downtown, which makes a Saturday market run an easy start to the weekend. Have a question about dates or which home fits your group? Reach out to us here and we'll be happy to help you plan.
